William Morris

William Morris (1834–1896) was an English designer, craftsman, writer, and socialist born in Walthamstow, England. A founder of the Arts and Crafts movement, he championed hand craftsmanship and medieval-inspired beauty over industrial mass production. His legacy spans textiles like Strawberry Thief (1883), the utopian novel News from Nowhere (1890), and the celebrated Kelmscott Press, shaping modern decorative art and social reform.
