Lion of Judah - Ethiopia - Travel Art Wall Deco Poster | Modern Art Style
The Lion of Judah Monument in Addis Ababa represents a long-standing emblem of Ethiopia’s Solomonic monarchy. The crowned bronze lion was erected near the city’s railway station for the 1930 coronation of Emperor Haile Selassie. Italian forces removed it after occupying Addis Ababa in 1936 and displayed it in Rome, where Ethiopian patriot Zerai Deres protested beside it in 1938. The monument was returned to Ethiopia in 1960 and restored to its original setting. Coordinates: 9.0105° N, 38.7526° E.
